Nyberg's Ace is celebrating Over 50 Years

What began as a small chain of hardware stores established by a group of Chicago-area retailers in 1924 has evolved into the nation’s leading retailer-owned cooperatives.  Roy Nyberg joined this group of retailers in 1958 when he established Nyberg’s Ace Hardware in Sioux Falls, SD.    Roy started working for an Ace Hardware store in International Falls at age 16.   It was Roy’s dream to own his own Ace store some day and he is living his dream with four Ace Hardware stores!

Celebrating over 50 years, locally and family-owned Nyberg’s Ace has been the helpful neighborhood place for convenience, selection, & service in Sioux Falls.  The Nyberg locations cover the four corners of Sioux Falls: 41st & Minnesota, 12th & Kiwanis, 10th & Sycamore, and 41st & Sertoma.  Nyberg’s Ace has proven itself for over 50 years by sticking to its core values of offering legendary customer service and convenience at competitive pricing. 

Nyberg’s Ace has been the innovators in bringing many “Firsts” to the Sioux Falls area.  Nyberg’s Ace was the FIRST to introduce Weber barbeque grills to Sioux Falls in 1958.  The FIRST to entertain in Crazy Days in Sioux Falls at the original Nyberg’s Ace store site at the Southway Shopping Center on Minnesota Avenue and a downtown parade in the early 1960’s.  The FIRST to introduce Scotts Lawn Care products through the “Home of the Lawn Doctors’ in the early 1960’s.  The FIRST: A new generation retail outlet to purchase land on 41st Street in Sioux Falls in 1967.  The FIRST to provide innovative seminars: Wilton cake decorating classes, canning seminars, “how-to” seminars, Hunter’s Stag,…The FIRST to bring Baby Boomer’s discount to Sioux Falls.

Kevin, Roy Nyberg's son, now has the reigns of providing the Sioux Falls community the legendary customer service his father started over 50 years ago.  Community values remain a top priority for the Nyberg’s as they are involved in many local charities and events including ‘Que for Kids Celebrity BarbeQUE Cook-Off which raises money for Cure Kids Cancer.  Come visit Kevin, his sister Marin, and their friendly, knowledgeable staff at one of their four Nyberg’s Ace locations!
